Goethe-Institut

A fresh, new design to win over younger generations

The Goethe Institut is Germany’s cultural institute – promoting German language and culture internationally. Eat was retained by the The Goethe Institut in Japan to update its visual identity and restructure its collateral to better represent Germany’s image and cultural heritage and engage with a wider audience and a younger generation in Japan.

We had a rich range of content to work with – A  celebration of 100 years of Dada, closely followed by Horizonte, the German film festival, kept our print designers stimulated. Working with long-time collaborators so+ba, we began developing unexpected formats, and engaging layouts to challenge people’s preconceptions of Germany in the 21st century.
